Ooooh boy, Dragon’s Dogma 2 hell.
Origin: Amenthes and Allani were taken from my Cult of the Lamb 19th Century (Regency) AU and became my characters in DD2. Their backstories and personalities were adapted into the setting, but I can safely say that they’re now characters all their own.
And of course, I’ve made a shitton of pathways for these losers.
Allani as the Arisen:
Beck and Call:
The original game, Amenthes and Allani’s first run. Amenthes doesn’t know how feelings really work.
New Game Plus:
Post-game, Amenthes’ poor coping skills and newfound Will turn him into a trainwreck until he’s brought into the new run. Allani doesn’t quite remember things, and Amenthes takes things into his own hands to keep her to himself. He proceeds to derail the plot, punch Darragh in the face, and go Dragonsplague because jealousy. He gets kicked out, mellows out a bit, and returns a little closer to his original game self, allowing for more indulgent shenanigans like writing poetry and love letters.
Tuxedo Mask Route (New Game):
Alternate route to New Game Plus, where Amenthes goes straight to the new game… except he arrives in Vernworth, not the Borderwatch. He starts to put things in motion, but one evening in the masquerade, he meets the Arisen, who doesn’t recognize him… Here, Allani feels doubtful about her abilities as Arisen since she can’t even summon her loyal pawn, but she feels his presence, somewhere. In the meantime, why is that grouchy fellow participating in the masquerade if he doesn’t even want to be there?
Amenthes as the Arisen:
Pygmalion:
Amenthes, proud and reclusive son of a noble, becomes the Arisen while being forced to train under his Uncle Gregor in northern Vermund. When called to create his loyal companion, he imagines the heroines from romantic stories he enjoys reading. The result: a problem of his own making.
Arisen-less AU:
A world either without an Arisen or without the Pathfinder to manipulate its fate. Amenthes and Allani live their lives as detailed in the previous AUs. Amenthes gets dragged by one of his brothers to the masquerade to socialize, where he meets an Allani pretending to be a noble. His interest is piqued by the masked lady acting the opposite of demure and flirtatious like the rest of the attendees…
Yeah, this is all nonsense and I wish I could get away from idea hell because I just want to finish writing one fucking this aaaaaa
